Updated information from the Uist Community Riding School regarding new restrictions that come into force from Monday 14th September.
Dear Rider,
We aim to stay open, however Jintys Juniors (Sat club) running 12 – 1.30pm until further notice will be non-riding. We will still have horse handling & grooming, games, arts & crafts, and horse learning activities during the sessions, and we hope you will still support us. The new charge will be £10 per week. Please book in advance each week so we know what numbers are attending.
Enrolment will be in the indoor school and small groups of children will be in this area for their activities and snacks, please note face masks need to be worn at all times when you are on UCRS grounds. The building will remain closed to all public except the toilets will be available if necessary and all children will be accompanied.
You will be asked to sign in and add a contact number for track and trace on each visit.
Please use the hand washing station at the gate on arrival.
You can book a private lesson or for 2 children in the same lesson at any other suitable time- please speak to staff. We would ask a that a parent stays with their children to assist and would need to have some horse experience.
Pony ride/ Mini lesson this will still continue; however, parents will be asked to lift their children on safely and lead the pony – you will need to have some horse experience; face masks to be worn by all.
Lesson – we aim to still hold lessons though all riders should be able to mount and adjust their own tack safely, please meet us at the gate and wait in the indoor school, all buildings and stables will be closed to public. Please use the hand washing stand at the gate and sign into our track and trace register, face masks must be worn.
Registered volunteers/helpers- please speak to Sue or Natasha if you are not sure if you qualify for this,- we obviously need volunteers to keep the yard running smoothly and safely; however we need to limit numbers in the yard so please let staff know when you will be in the yard and at what time. At present we are asking only trained volunteers to attended, all other helpers are welcome to book a lesson. Key times for registered volunteers are Saturday 9-4, Tuesday & Friday 3-6
Thank you for your continued support, which is crucial for the survival of the club and we all look forward to happier times. We will review these guidelines on 5th October.
